Earl Mahan, SVP Gas Operations

Earl Mahan is Senior Vice President of Gas Operations at Pike Gas. In this role, Earl oversees all gas operations for Pike across a 10-state service territory in the southeastern United States. This includes full P/L responsibility for all distribution and transmission work, replacement and steel projects, and pipeline integrity, new construction and sewer camera work.

Earl has 35 years of operational experience in gas contracting and extensive customer relationships throughout the eastern United States. Prior to Pike, Earl served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Mears Group (Quanta), where he had responsibility for operations across seven states and 1,000 employees installing distribution gas in new, replacement and steel lines along with large-diameter transmission steel projects. Earl is also affiliated with the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) and the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), where he previously served as President of the Nevada chapter.

George Ratchford, VP Gas Operations

George Ratchford is the Vice President of Gas Operations for Pike Gas, where he has operational responsibility for North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. This encompasses safety, operational performance, project execution, work methods, standards and procedures, and client relations.

George began his career in 1987 with PSNC Energy, a natural gas utility business unit of SCANA Corporation, where he worked for more than 30 years. As Vice President of Gas Operations at PSNC Energy, George was responsible for system operations, maintenance, construction, customer service operations, sales and marketing functions, project engineering, and financial performance. George currently serves on the North Carolina General Contractors License Board and has also served on various other industry and statewide boards. He has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Dave Insel, Director of Operations

Dave Insel is Director of Operations for Pike Gas, where he is responsible for all gas operations in Florida. Dave oversees financials and forecasting with a focus on maintaining and building customer relationships. He also manages workforce development safety and training.

Dave brings 40 years of operational experience in gas contracting and extensive customer relationships in Florida. Dave previously served as Director of Operations for Mears Group (Quanta), during which time he contributed to customer growth in Florida.
